APL Research Assistant

SEP 2019 - Present

Currently designing a quad-gun configuration for a helicon thruster, to investigate the effect on downstream plume properties. This involves reconfiguring the laboratory's existing power system to supply power to four individual helicon thrusters as opposed to its current accommodations for two.

The Maker Fair is a public event, for families to see what students at the surrounding schools, workshops, and businesses are working on. I presented our ASME Student Design robot, and set up a course replica so that children could do the competition themselves.

The hiring committee of every executive position at Tacoma Community College has at least one student representative, responsible for assuring that student needs and perspectives are considered with all potential new hires. This duty included evaluating hundreds of resumes, conducting around twenty video interviews, and deciding on the final three nominees to be chosen by the President.

ASME Robotics Competition

MAY 2016

The American Society of Mechanical Engineers hosts an annual Student Design Competition in which a problem is presented in October and by March, a team of students must produce a robot within given rules that addresses this problem. In 2019, the challenge was for a robot to be able to pluck 16 balls perched on 16 posts, and drop them (in a controlled manner) in a particular area.

TCC CS Tenure Committee

OCT 2018 - APR 2019

Instructors at Tacoma Community College go through a multiyear process to gain tenure, guided by a committee of administrators and one student. The student is responsible for observing at least one lecture per quarter and writing up a detailed analysis of the instructor's teaching style and success.
